Jessica Zanotto

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Jessica (Jess). I have been an educator in California since I joined Teach for America in 2007. I hold a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with Reading Certification. I also have a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelors in History from UCLA. Between 2007 and 2014 I taught Lower-elementary school in the Santa Clara County Public School system. Then in 2014 I became an  Instructional Coach and helped roll out the Common Core. In 2015 I gave birth to my first of three daughters and decided to teach part-time. I then started working for a Private School in San Jose as a Intervention Specialist. My main focus was on reading instruction using multi-sensory techniques. In 2016 I was blessed with my 2nd daughter and quickly decided I needed even more flexibility! Therefore, I started working as an educational consultant and private tutor. At the end of 2019 I welcomed my 3rd daughter into the world. It was a wild time to have a new baby and two additional, energetic children.  I added homeschool teacher to my resume, teaching my eldest Kindergarten and second daughter TK. My experience home schooling and teaching in  both private and public schools have deeply influenced my views of education. I believe tutoring/instruction should be customizable because every child is an individual.
